The Indonesian Society of Gastroenterology (PB PGI) successfully organized the Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Scientific Webinar as part of the introduction of the IBD Referral Form. The event was attended by approximately 550 doctors from across Indonesia, including general practitioners, internal medicine specialists, and gastroenterology-hepatology consultants. This webinar aimed to provide the latest updates on IBD diagnosis and treatment, enabling doctors to apply this knowledge in their daily clinical practice.
The event was divided into two main sessions. The first session featured lectures moderated by Prof. Ari Fahrial Syam, MD, MMB, PhD, FACP, FACG. In this session, participants gained in-depth insights through two key topics:
- “Impact of Delayed Diagnosis in IBD: The Use of IBD Referral”, presented by Rabbinu Rangga Pribadi, MD.
- “Challenges in Diagnosing IBD”, delivered by Prof. Murdani Abdullah, MD, PhD, FACG, FASGE.
The second session featured a case discussion titled “Case Sharing IBD”, presented by Virly Nanda Muzellina, MD. The discussion was moderated by Achmad Fauzi, MD, with three expert panelists:

- Amanda Pitarini Utari, MD.
Through this webinar, ISG hopes to enhance doctors understanding of IBD diagnosis and treatment while encouraging the use of the IBD Referral Form to expedite early detection and improve disease management. With continuous updates and scientific discussions like this, the quality of healthcare services for IBD patients in Indonesia is expected to improve significantly.
