
Chicago, United States, May 2–5, 2026 — The Indonesian Society of Gastroenterology (PGI) proudly announces a significant international achievement, with ten scientific abstracts involving Indonesian authors and co-authors accepted and presented at Digestive Disease Week 2026 held in Chicago.
Digestive Disease Week is one of the world’s largest scientific meetings in the fields of gastroenterology, hepatology, endoscopy, and gastrointestinal surgery. Each year, it brings together more than 20,000 clinicians, researchers, and academics from across the globe to present innovations, exchange knowledge, and discuss the latest developments in gastroenterology and digestive endoscopy. As a global scientific forum, DDW serves as a key platform for advancing research and evidence-based clinical practice in digestive diseases.
Indonesia’s Contribution to Global Scientific Collaboration
The acceptance of these ten abstracts reflects the growing quality and contribution of research involving Indonesian investigators within the international scientific collaboration network.
The abstracts were presented across various scientific sessions. The topics covered a wide range of important areas, including innovations in endoscopy, the development of simulation based mastery learning, and research related to gastrointestinal diseases. All accepted abstracts were published in the supplement of the leading scientific journal Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
