RAPID was established with the aim of expanding the RSF Network, facilitating academic exchanges through education and research with bowel disease researchers in Southeast Asia. In the RAPID pre-meeting, discussions were held regarding an introduction to RAPID, information, and background on how the RSF Network formed RAPID, as well as expectations to strengthen partnerships and provide an opportunity for participating academics to discuss the future development of RAPID.
On January 14, 2023, at the 108 Military Central Hospital, Hanoi, Vietnam, the Central Board of the Indonesian Gastroenterology Association (PB PGI) officially joined RAPID with the signing of an MOU with associations in the Asia Pacific region.
PGI was invited again to the RAPID meeting on April 11, 2024, at Conrad Seoul, Korea. Indonesia was represented by Dr. Rabbinu Rabbinu Pribadi, SpPD, K-GEH, who presented on the topic ‘RAPID as an International Education Platform.’
The RAPID leaders meeting began with the signing of an MOU between KASID and GAT. Currently, six Asian associations have joined RAPID, including Indonesia/PGI.
