Berlin, October 3rd, 2025 — A remarkable achievement for Indonesia as Prof. Ari Fahrial Syam, MD, PhD, FACG, FACP became the first doctor from Indonesia and ASEAN to successfully complete the BioGaia Academy Expert Program in GI Health and was awarded the Diploma GI Expert on Probiotic in Berlin, Germany.
This prestigious eight-month international program combined online scientific discussions, academic assignments, and two in-person meetings held in Stockholm and Berlin. A total of 18 participants from various countries presented their scientific topics as part of the final assessment process.
The program was supervised by two globally renowned experts in Disorders of Gut–Brain Interaction (DGBI) and probiotics:
- Magnus Simrén, Department of Molecular and Clinical Medicine, University of Gothenburg, Sweden
- Francisco Guarner, Vall d’Hebron University Hospital, Barcelona, Spain
During the scientific session at the Radisson Collection Hotel, Berlin, on October 2nd, 2025, Prof. Ari delivered his presentation titled “Disorders of Gut–Brain Interaction”.
This milestone highlights Prof. Ari’s strong commitment to advancing gastroenterology, microbiota, and probiotic research, while reinforcing Indonesia’s contribution to the global medical community.
