Inauguration of the Central Board of the Indonesian Gastroenterology Association (PB PGI) for the 2023–2026 Term

 

The Central Board of the Indonesian Gastroenterology Association (PB PGI) for the 2023–2026 term officially conducted the inauguration of its new management. This inauguration was held in conjunction with the Indonesian Liver Researchers Association (PB PPHI) and the Indonesian Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Association (PB PEGI) on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at the Secretariat Office of the Indonesian Medical Association (IDI).

The inauguration ceremony was led by the General Chairperson of PB IDI, Dr. Moh. Adib Khumaidi, SpOT, and was attended by the Chairperson of the Professional Services Development Council (MPPK) IDI, Dr. Ika Prasetya Wijaya, SpPD, K-KV, FINASIM, FACP, FICA, as well as Advisors, Professors, and Senior Gastroenterohepatology specialists.

 

The ceremony began with the reading of PB IDI’s Decree on the Personnel Composition of the PGI Board for the 2023–2026 term, followed by the oath-taking ceremony, led by the General Chairperson of PB IDI and accompanied by the Chairperson of MPPK IDI.

After the new board members were inaugurated, the handover ceremony took place, with the outgoing Chairperson of PB PGI for the 2019–2023 term, Prof. Dr. Dadang Makmun, SpPD, K-GEH, FACG, represented by the Secretary-General of PB PGI for the 2019–2023 term, Dr. Achmad Fauzi, SpPD, K-GEH, passing the leadership to the incoming Chairperson of PB PGI for the 2023–2026 term, Prof. Dr. Ari Fahrial Syam, SpPD, K-GEH, MMB, PhD, FACG, FACP.

The new board of PB PGI is expected to continue making meaningful contributions in advancing and improving the quality of healthcare services, particularly in the field of gastroenterology in Indonesia.

This event is expected to serve as a guideline for doctors, including general practitioners, internal medicine specialists, gastroenterohepatology consultants, radiologists, and pathologists, in examining pathogenesis, diagnosing, and managing IBD patients.
