In recent decades, the incidence of chronic constipation has been on the rise and is increasingly encountered in daily practice, requiring heightened awareness among medical practitioners across Indonesia, particularly in gastroenterology and gastrointestinal endoscopy. In response, the Central Board of the Indonesian Gastroenterology Association (PB PGI) organized the “Expert Meeting of Chronic Constipation: Exploring the Latest Updates on Chronic Constipation in Special Populations in Indonesia” on March 10, 2024, via Zoom meeting.
The event was attended by 402 online participants, consisting of internal medicine specialists and internal medicine consultants in gastroenterohepatology (K-GEH). The program featured three sessions, which included presentations on updates to the chronic constipation consensus and case discussions followed by Q&A sessions. The sessions were moderated by Dr. Hasan Maulahela, SpPD, K-GEH, with panelists Prof. Marcellus Simadibrata, PhD, SpPD, K-GEH, FACG, FASGE and Dr. Amanda Pitarini Utari, SpPD, K-GEH.

- Session 3: Dr. Ulfa Kholili, SpPD, K-GEH discussed “Clinical Insight and Experience with Elobixibat in Constipated Patients Associated with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).”
